10 Cute (and original) Halloween Costumes for 2012
I decided to start my Halloween costume hunt early because it’s the first year I can finally buy a costume for someone other than myself… my little baby!!! In the past, I would try (usually unsuccessfully) to hunt down the perfect costume at the last minute. I always wanted my costume to be the perfect mix of clever, original, funny, and tastefully sexy. And then after scouring all the stores, I was happy if I just ended up with something in my size that didn’t make me look fat!
This year all I wanted was a really cute and original costume for Skye that would also keep her warm when we venture out for our first “trick-or-treating” jaunt. I came across quite a few costumes that fit the bill, but finally decided on a sweet little goldfish outfit from Pottery Barn Kids that looked like Skye’s style. I can’t wait to see her in it on Halloween!
In the meantime, I thought I would post some of the other costumes that I came across in my search that are really cute, but also a bit original.
Not only did I come across some sweet options for babies at Halloween, there were also some real duds out there! So for some comedic relief, I also did a post on those “interesting” costumes that didn't make the cut!
If you are tired of the same ‘ol baby costumes, why not wrap baby up into a little sushi roll? Yummy!
This one is from OneStepAhead. I just might have gotten this one for Skye if I hadn't found the goldfish costume (see below). It really is adorable! I just wonder if the baby can fit in the stroller while trick-or-treating with that big peacock tail! ?
Very sweet, from Carter’s Halloween Boo-tique.
According to the New York Times, Tom Arma is “the most published baby photographer in the world.” Apparently he has his own collection of baby Halloween costumes and this one I found a super cute!
This charming costume is from Pottery Barn Kids. I ended up getting this for Skye’s first Halloween. I figure it is warm and comfortable for her first time out trick-or-treating. They even have a matching goldfish treat bag (sold separately) which I ended up getting with her name embroidered on the back.
I am not sure which I like more here the costume or the baby. Precious!
Not only is this a dapper little outfit for Junior, it comes with the golf bag and clubs!
I really like this one, my only caveat is it looks a bit stiff. Maybe it’s just the way they positioned the baby in the photo…anyways, I still thought it was super cute and unique. Perfect for a city where it’s blistery cold on Halloween night!
This is for the little ones out there! You may not want to take your newborn out into the night, but a Halloween photo shoot at home might be a good way to capture the spirit!
This is a classic – the Pumpkin costume! There are a ton out there, but I really liked this one since it seemed original and has a homespun feel to it. The arm and leg warmers are a nice touch!
